Kumpulan Pengurusan Kayu Kayan Terengganu Sdn. Bhd. (KPKKT) participated in a stakeholder engagement session organized by the Forestry Department of Peninsular Malaysia (JPSM) in collaboration with the Terengganu State Forestry Department. The three-day session was held from 28 to 30 April 2026 at Hotel UiTM Dungun.
The session aimed to identify potential state land forest areas within the Central Forest Spine (CFS) (T-SL1) network for gazettement as Permanent Reserved Forest (PRF) in Terengganu. Discussions focused on sharing information related to land use status, including existing PRF areas, proposed PRF, state land, alienated land, and forested reserve land, to support more structured forest landscape planning and management.
The closing ceremony was officiated by YBhg. Dato’ Hj. Roslan bin Rani, Deputy Director-General (Policy & Planning) of the Forestry Department of Peninsular Malaysia.
KPKKT’s participation reflects its ongoing commitment to supporting sustainable forest management, biodiversity conservation, and the strengthening of ecological networks at both state and national levels. The organization also extends its appreciation to the organizers for the invitation and opportunity to be part of this engagement session. It is hoped that the outcomes will further enhance inter-agency collaboration and support strategic forest gazettement efforts for the long-term sustainability of forest resources.
